Fan Art -- Beautiful Darkness
I've been reading and re-reading Beautiful Darkness, which sort of equals Through the Looking-Glass plus Lord of the Flies. It's both unapologetically cute and mercilessly vicious, a fable of childhood innocence, cruelty, and growth made luminous through Kerascoet's lovely watercolors.

Crayola Cult Consumes Friends, Energy, Time
So this crayon thing has gotten way way out of control. It's pretty much my favorite medium now, and my new mission is to fill every sketch with waxy colored goodness. I was going to load every single drawing I make, in order, but that's become a bit too time consuming. Maybe I'll eventually get them all on my flickr site. Or maybe they will just smear themselves into mud as they wait, wasting away on the shelf like so many preschool dreams. I am sorry little dudes, I only have like six hands and they are all somewhere else.

It Is All Done With Minimal Atmosphere
I did most of these on the plane from Milwaukee to Philly with people trying to talk through my earphones. Give Him Time and Lo!
Spent the better half of a week with my bro and his wife and the little dude. I cannot believe his progress, people! He is making great strides and rolls and cooings and I am a damn proud uncle and brother and I will be returning whenever I can afford it.
I left my little packet of crayons on the plane and my brother got me this huge 64 count replacement and I have yet to wrap my head around all these crazy new colors and all their ridiculous names. I think my favorites are the blues that are pretending to be greys and the dull moldy greens.

These Are Mostly On The Job
Whenever I'm on the verge of complaining about excessively black pants and coats and shirts and hats and hearts, I look up and the women are wearing all these psychedelic grampa shirts and the men are sporting highlighter shirts. Spring, I tell you, they are unfurling their tail feathers.

Shut Up! Shut Up!: A Retrospective

Yesterday I went with Bing Bing and So Jenn to the art museum in Philly. It hurt an awful lot, mostly in the soft tissue that pads my cerebral cortex. Brain hemorrages from laughter, this is unexplored territory. My favorite bits were the suits of armor and that statue of the baby squeezing a chicken.
