On a side note, one of the children's books I skimmed debunked the 'viking helmets had horns' myth not once, but four times. Apparently not even vikings could be that hip.

Ah, the great Antoine Lavoisier, baron of base elements, scion of skepticism. Behold, his scientific vigor. This dude was an animal: discovered 33 elements, helped establish the metric system, revealed the chemical processes behind combustion, traveled 'round the globe in 80 days. If only he had had (had) an iron neck.
