The Ketchup Game

Went to Jenn's BFA show at UD. Riveting. Spellbinding. Crazy. And ridiculously great. Kudos.

Unfortunately, Jenn's stuff ain't up online, so my comical journal (above) will haveta do.


Also caught the tail-end of Marianne's kickin' combination lock of printwork, drawings, and (handbound!) artist books. Her website's blooming as I type, so be sure to check her stuff at http://mariannedages.com.



As for me, I've been fooling along without documentation far too often. Am posting more frequent-ish. Beware.

Which Pun's the Ugly One

The following scrawlings squeaked out of my inferior hand:

My left has long been shunned in any but the most mundane of tasks, and this must be payback. Mad? Nay, merely painstakingly slow in its creativity. Interestingly enough, the right brain defers to the left's stylistic sensibilities. Freaky revelations, chapter six, verse 66.

On a completely related note, just finished Jonathan Lethem's Motherless Brooklyn which features the fiendishly clever pseudodetective Lionel Essrog and a narrative flush with his impulsive, convoluted Tourette's Syndrome. Highly recommended to any pithy rhymers in the crowd, especially if you've ever occupied the same space as my voice.

And see, there's gonna be a movie adaptation as well, with dual roles of director and lead filled by the lovely Ed Norton, no stranger to weird and spastic parts.

Look for the Johnny Depp-A-Like in drag. You'll only see her in the right side of the wrong viewing screen.

Cold Weather Hibernation Down South

That's right, there's an all circulation meeting in Bear, DE today, which means I'll have three hours of doodles to color in and post tonight. Sound good deal, yes?

Bereaved of Absence

So I've been writing more than usual since last week's Poetry Slam so that I've prepared two poems for performance and have six or seven others in various stages of dress, ranging from birthday suits to dowry packages. I did draw tonight, but only for an hour or so and only on one sketchbook spread which I would normally share, but it's too late for scanning and too late for staying up too late. Maybe tomorrow. For sure.


Also, I'm taking a zine to press this weekend. Possibly two. Hopefully I have them begun by then. Stay tuned.

Fume, Fume, Run, Run from Room

Today was so rampantly insane , I 'm temporarily befuddled and have, as of this late hour, strayed completely from the daunting task of unraveling my coworkers' collective madness; an overwhelming blast from the horn of plenty, a big tip on a torpid night, a cell phone with immaculate reception. I've started drawing them. Humbly. Cautiously. Somewhat inaccurately. Immediately after the two hour 'meeting' today, I played on the playground. And then climbed a tree. And sat doodling until my bum got all bummy and I had to unclimb the thing.

Here's a very, very broad overview of our group focus:We played 'holy smoke, the building's a roiling greasy ball of torch' drill. Twice.
