Somebody Knows

See the pacifier thingy in the upper left corner? It was a nerf-like toy from the eighties or something. A bopping jumper bouncer type. What the heck was it called? Why am I drawn to its curvey symmetry?

    "Oh come on...have a tail!"

That saturn-looking thing is actually a Pogo Ball, I for some reason intensely wanted one but was forced to go without. They were even sold with a "carrying strap", advertised by cool/mean/aloof-looking children. Not nearly as cool as HitStix, but you knew that already (only slightly less annoying to parents than Klackers, which I had in abundance).

PS The Colonel / Colonel Peanut is quite mystical. Co-lo-nel Hogan? Thanks, LeBeau, now go wash up.

PPS "Klackers, also known as Klick-Klacks, Whackers, Ker-Knockers, Whack'os, Bangers, Poppers, Knockers, Bonkers, Clackers, Clack Clacks, Crackers, K-Nokkers, Knockers, Mini Poppers, Popper Knockers, Rockers, Super Clackers, Quick Klacks, Quick Clacks, Quick Wacks, Wackers, Whak Kos, Zonkers and various other names you wouldn’t want to put into an Internet search engine." I knew them as Klick-Klacks. Mmm, I could really go for some Knockers right now....i mean - Zonkers! Zonkers, not Knockers!

  6. pogo balls. yeah. mine is still in my parents' basement, i think. i really wanted a red-and-blue one, but red and blue have been "out" for children's stuff colours for eons. i had to settle for teal-and-fuschia. for shame.
